Congratulations on being accepted to Michigan State University! You have chosen one of nation’s top institutions of higher learning and we are happy to have you join our Spartan family. You represent the best of the 2019 freshman class and we would like you to join the Charles Drew Science Scholars program.
The Drew Science Scholars program is a comprehensive academic and social support program for students pursuing degrees in science or mathematics-related majors at MSU. As a residential program, Drew Scholars provides its students with many of the benefits of a small college experience, such as a close-knit, supportive academic and social community. The enriched educational and social experience of Drew Scholars includes:
• Personalized academic advising • First year peer mentoring
• Subject-specific academic coaching
• Career advising tailored to each student’s career interests and goals
• A residential community that provides a built-in peer network
You are being asked to join Drew Scholars because your academic records indicate you are a strong student and we would be delighted to support you during your time at MSU. In addition to the components listed above, Drew Scholars provides access to opportunities such as learning from and working with leading scientists and scholars. Scholars in our program participate in student leadership, summer research, internships, campus-based research, study abroad and a number of workshops and seminars.
If you want to take advantage of all that the Drew Science Scholars program has to offer, then we would love to have you. Please respond to the invitation by visiting https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DrewAcceptanceInc2019 by May 1, 2019. We can only accommodate a limited number of students and we want you to be one of them. If you have any questions after you have reviewed the enclosed program materials, please feel free to contact us by email at NatSci.DrewScholars@msu.edu or phone at 517-353-8491.
